The Sum of its Parts
Overview:
For this project I set out to create a small game that showcased the scripts I'd completed for the Dungeon Siege Project During my second semester of 2019. The three scripts I'd planned on implementing were the Bird AI, Health Bar and JSON Utility scripts but only made it as far as the first two. The idea that formed originally was to have a level with fences surrounding truffles where pigs would run towards them. The pigs would spawn increasingly over time until the farmer was overwhelmed. The pigs would spawn of varying sizes using the JSON scripts and the player would have a stamina bar to run after the pigs. A timer would count how long the player lasted until all of their mushrooms had been destroyed.
As I scoped down this became a project surrounding more so on the key elements of implementing my scripts and the restrictions of time I had. Afterwards the project is just a sample of mushrooms with health bars that can be attacked by pigs. The pigs deplete the healthbar while on top of the mushroom and runs away when the farmer approaches. The lose condition occurs when a mushroom is completely eaten. This is due to the fact that the player can just stand on top of a mushroom and shoo pigs away indefinitely.
